How To Dress Like Zero Suit Samus
What is Metroid?
Metroid, originally released in Japan as Metroid, Metroids are a species of parasitic extraterrestrial lifeforms with the ability to absorb the DNA and physical traits of their prey. The Metroids were created by an ancient race of beings called the Chozo. It was these very Chozo who named the species “Metroid” in their own language, which translates to “ultimate warrior.”
Recent events had brought Samus Aran to a research lab on planet SR388 – a place long known to the Galactic Federation as an origin point for Metroids. In order to combat this threat, Samus obtained a vaccine from the last surviving Metroid – her former nemesis, Baby – and used it against the hostile organisms infesting the lab. Unfortunately, all but one of them were too far gone for even this cure to help…
With no other option left available, Samus was forced to exterminate those few remaining specimens that were beyond saving. She then proceeded further into SR388 and eventually built up enough energy within her Power Suit’s reactor that it was able to fire her deep into space once more…Check Price on Amazon
Who is Zero Suit Samus?
The Zero Suit is a form of attire worn by Samus Aran when she’s not using her Power Suit. You may have seen the Zero Suit in action during the end of Metroid: Other M, when Samus was fighting “the Baby” in her escape pod.
We’ve also seen the Zero Suit in past 2D Metroid games such as Super Metroid and Metroid Fusion.
In fact, the Zero Suit made its formal debut in the now-classic NES game – Super Metroid! The Zero Suit is a part of Samus Aran’s “basic” attire, along with her Power Suit. On rare occasions she may be caught wearing the Zero Suit as she runs around in an environment where her Power Suit is not needed – such as when she first landed on planet Zebes prior to Super Metroid.
The suit consists of black shorts and boots with accents matching those on her iconic Power Suit – though it doesn’t provide any protection against damage like the Power Suits do. It also lacks a helmet, so it is unable to protect against attacks from above or below. Despite this lack of defense, the suit is still able to absorb energy projectiles through its material – just like the Power Suit.
The Zero Suit’s most interesting feature is the pair of “Wings of Liberty” that are located on the back of her suit. These wings can be used for limited flight, though they require a certain amount of energy to be activated. In Super Smash Bros., these wings will give Zero Suit Samus an upwards boost, making them useful for recovering.
